BimaLab Africa
Four years. 135+ startups. 28 countries. BimaLab is the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Kenya's pan-African insurtech accelerator, now led by FSD Africa and backed by the Swiss Re Foundation. Since 2022, Leapfrog has led the commercialisation and growth coaching pillar — the part of the programme that turns promising innovations into viable businesses. We've delivered masterclasses, run 1:1 and group coaching sessions, and helped design the assessment and tracking frameworks that ensure every startup leaves with more than inspiration.
Elephant Healthcare
ElephantOS platform now serves over 19 million patients in Kenya across public primary and secondary care facilities. When they were entering the market, they needed expert navigation of government stakeholder relationships at national and county level. We provided the engagement strategy and the ground-level advisory that got them into the right rooms. The results are measurable: improved patient waiting times, improved revenue collection for public facilities.
IPSL (Pesalink)
IPSL is a subsidiary of the Kenya Bankers Association and operates Pesalink, Kenya's interoperable instant payment network connecting 80+ banks, telcos, fintechs and SACCOs. We have had two engagements with IPSL, both won through competitive tender and funded by FSD Africa: a business development and sales skills programme for their customer-facing team, and the development of a full sales methodology blueprint — playbook, strategy document, competitive review and tooling recommendations.
Mawingu Networks
Mawingu is Kenya's largest rural and peri-urban WiFi provider. We were brought in to lead their stakeholder engagement strategy for SchoolNET — a national school connectivity project funded by the Government of Kenya and UNICEF under the global GIGA initiative. Our scope included competitive and regulatory mapping, influence mapping across government, and advisory support for the deal structure negotiations.We were an integral part of ADG's growth for 26 months from inception — strategy, staffing, policy development, commercial architecture. Spearhead Technologies
We engaged Spearhead from inception — bringing together a small local IoT R&D facility, limited manufacturing capability and local investors into a globally capable manufacturing operation. OnePort365
OnePort365 is a technology-first logistics company specialising in transparent, efficient freight forwarding. When they looked to enter East Africa in 2022, they engaged us for business environment analysis and partner introductions across logistics and financial services. Three years later, they are operating successfully in Kenya.
Spartan Shield
A managed security service provider (MSSP) offering SOC-as-a-Service, incident response, digital forensics and cyber threat intelligence. We delivered a solution positioning review — mapping their product messaging to different buyer personas across the customer organisation — and a sales training programme to ensure their teams could identify and accelerate opportunities more effectively.
Stepwise / Daproim Africa
Stepwise, focused on ICT training and BPO for underserved communities, developed an in-house ERP and mobile wallet and needed an independent assessment before commercial launch. We delivered a full functionality and security review: product specification analysis, software architecture review, feature completeness assessment, penetration testing and a security architecture evaluation.
